Research Paper with Final Outline

  1. Megan, your blog speaks novels about your topic just through your design alone. I especially love the tiled hearts in the background that seem as though they have been sketched in. Beyond the perceived simplicity and artistry which they bring to your design, they also showcase the perceived simplicity of the desires of the human heart that Barnes clearly proves against in his work by portraying complex human relationships. The irony is set up through the added lines of the heart, and the gray background, which shows the sadness of the heart and all the ways in which love twists and turns us. It is this that I wish that you had elaborated more upon in your PowerPoint. While you had adept analysis (and taught me several new techniques. Thanks!), the powerpoint lacked a central focus to me. Elaborating on the complexity of love as it relates to the disconnect between the head and that heart would be very effective, in my opinion.
From there, I looked at your research paper, which I felt had very meaningful concepts and ideas, but was not very well backed up. I say this not because of a lack of sources, but because the sources related less to Barnes’ specific writing style/influences and more to the concepts that you were trying to describe. Finding more relevant texts might be in your best interest. That being said, I understand Barnes is a relatively new author, and I think you did a good job expressing your concepts even given this obstacle.
